Speaker Assignments
These presentations are for organisations that bring in speakers with some subject matter expertise. They can be delivered in person or via Zoom. If we deliver in person, you will have to provide a room and a projector.
The presentation is based on PowerPoint. It can be custom-designed to your needs, focusing on hedgehog matters, or include information on how to build and manage a voluntary organisation. The presentation is interactive and usually lasts about an hour and contains the following topics:

Community Work
These are informal talks that can be delivered in a variety of settings, including outdoors. Topics are general hedgehog knowledge, some rescue stories, and then a great emphasis on what the participants can do to help protect hedgehogs in their gardens or their parks. These talks can be an ideal add-on to any kind of forest school or ranger activities in a park.
We can custom-design these talks for allotments, schools, or local businesses and combine them with a walkabout in their grounds to point out opportunities of how to make these places more hedgehog friendly. These educational events are supported by a variety of leaflets and posters which we can hand out. And we also have some kids' activity sheets. Costs: We would appreciate a donation. |
Events
If you are running an event, we can come along with our stall and provide information about hedgehogs, including distributing our fliers and posters.
Our stall is based on community engagement, meaning one-to-one conversations at the stall, and we also have some interactive games, such as naming our toy hedgehog, and kids' materials. We can also sell some merchandise, such as toy hedgehogs or mugs. It is possible to add some custom-designed mini talks or hedgehog workshops, for example talking about the hedgehog population in Ealing, telling rescue stories, or informing people about hedgehog friendly gardening. |
Garden Coaching
This is a new project we are running together with Ealing Wildlife Group. If you would like advice on how to make your garden more hedgehog friendly, do get in touch and we send you a trained garden coach (a team of two).
The coaches will give you information and handouts about hedgehog friendly gardening, and go on a walkabout in your garden to point out any hedgehog dangers and opportunities. For example, they will help you decide whether you like to keep a part of your garden wild and discuss what changes you need to make to avoid hedgehog hazards. An important part of the visit is talking about Hedgehog Highways and how you may be able to engage your whole street as a hedgehog habitat. |
